 Inno Biologics Achieves Significant Commercial Milestone
Receives First Batch of Cell Lines from Avesthagen
for the Production of Clinical Grade Material

PUTRA NILAI, 1 April 2010 – Inno Biologics Sdn Bhd, who operates Malaysia’s first cGMP biomanufacturing facility and awarded the BioSpectrum’s “Emerging Company of the year 2010” has achieved a significant commercial milestone when it received its  first batch of two cell lines from India’s Avesthagen Limited for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Inno Biologics has been contracted to produce clinical grade materials which will be used in human trials as part of the registration process to be undertaken by Avesthagen. These cell lines are the first two of the four cell lines from Avesthagen’s pipeline that are contracted to be manufactured by Inno Biologics.

Inno Biologics Awarded the Emerging Company of the Year 2010 Award

Significant Milestone Achieved

SINGAPORE – Inno Biologics Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia’s first biopharmaceuticals contract manufacturing organisation and a Ministry of Finance incorporated company, was awarded with the “Emerging Company of the Year 2010 Award” at the 2nd BioSpectrum Asia Pacific Awards which was officiated by Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Manpower, Government of Singapore. The ceremony was held at The Legends, Fort Canings Park and attended by Pn. Puspawati Omar, Malaysian Trade Commissioner for Singapore and nearly 200 life science industry leaders from Singapore and other Asia-Pacific countries.

“As a new Malaysian company, we are deeply honoured to be presented with this Emerging Company of the Year 2010 Award. BioSpectrum is the most authoritative and influential information healthcare industry in the Asia Pacific region. We are proud of this recognition and we hope that this award will pave way to more successes in the future,” said Dato’ Mohd. Nazlee Kamal, Group Managing Director of Inno Bio Ventures Sdn. Inno Biologics and CEVEC Pharmaceuticals sign license agreement regarding the use of human CAPTM technology for production of safe and effective bio-pharmaceuticals

11 NOVEMBER 2009

KUALA LUMPUR - Inno Biologics Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Inno Bio Ventures Sdn Bhd, a company incorporated under Ministry of Finance, has announced today the signing of a strategic licensing agreement with CEVEC Pharmaceuticals GmbH, a German company specializing in the development of therapeutic proteins using a newly developed expression system based on human amniocytes – CEVEC’s Amniocyte Production (CAPTM) technology, offering significant advantages over existing production technology.

CEVEC's innovative technology will be used by Inno Biologics for developing production cell line and for production of biopharmaceutical products. The CAPTM cell line offers stable and higher expression of human proteins and cell density. The cell’s origins are ethically accepted with a complete cell source and cell line development documentation. Most importantly, CAPTM human cell line will provide Inno Biologics with non oncogenic cells which will ensure the future therapies can be delivered in a safe and effective manner.

Inno Bio Ventures and CCM Duopharma Biotech to target local market with biosimilars PDF Print E-mail

KUALA LUMPUR – Two local innovative companies have formed a strategic partnership to develop and market more affordable drugs to Malaysian through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Bio Malaysia 2009 event today.

The strategic partnership was signed between Y.Bhg Datuk Dr Megat Burhainuddin Bin Megat Abdul Rahman, Director for Inno Bio Ventures Sdn Bhd, and Y.Bhg Datuk Dr M. Jegathesan, Director for CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad (CCMD) in the presence of the Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak.

The strategic partnership which is on joint development and marketing of Erythropoietin (EPO) for the local market was also witnessed by Y.B. Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Y.Bhg Dato' Madinah Mohamad, Secretary General of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and Dato' Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, CEO of Malaysian Biotechnolgy Corporation (Biotechcorp).
